Khaleel Eksheir, Assistive Technology Specialist, and Katie Montie, ADA Project Coordinator, offer several trainings to campus faculty and staff.
Options include a 6 hour certificate program through Human Resources, a webinar, and a one hour session that reviews a different part of Universal Design each month.

Universal Design: Documents and Web Access
This 6-hour certificate program, held in a campus computer lab, offers a hands-on understanding of the importance of Universal Design (UD) and how to build content that is universally accessible. The workshop includes an overview of common disabilities and strategies used to mediate barriers to access. The program explains how to make materials entirely created to ensure access to the broadest range of individual needs. With the completion of this certificate, participants will have a better understanding of Universal Design, Disabilities, Accessibility, Accommodation, and Usability.
UNIVERSAL DESIGN FAST FACTS SERIES (UDFFS)
This series consists of small topics of Universal Design instructions, and each is presented in 10 to 15 minutes followed by a Q&A session. Participants can bring their electronic content to discuss their accessibility questions and concerns. Electronic content can be a web page, PDF file, Word file, Canvas Course, … etc.

This training focuses on Universal Design, and how full accessibility not only benefits students with disabilities, but also adds quality to your course. We explore different types of disabilities and how students with disabilities access course information in different ways. We then introduce the basics of how to make instructional materials accessible for all your students.
